Evaluation
Insightful assessments in a calm environment.
Our Evaluations
Educational Inspiration provides comprehensive evaluations for language, reading, writing, and spelling. Our evaluations usually include four to five hours of testing, completed across two sessions. Evaluations may result in a specific diagnosis when warranted.
We also provide re-evaluations to monitor progress after an initial diagnosis and window of treatment. These sessions are often completed in 2-3 hours and done in one session.

What to Know About Evaluations
Why Is an Evaluation Important?
An evaluation is a big step. We strive to provide a comfortable atmosphere and positive testing environment for your child.
Our evaluation can help your child learn why some things at school might be hard. It can also provide ideas to parents and teachers about how to be even more amazing! Our evaluations help your therapists and/or tutors create a treatment program tailored just for you.
Aren’t All Tests the Same?
Not all tests are equally good at diagnosing. There’s a special idea called “diagnostic sensitivity” that helps us know how good a test is at identifying disorders.
Some tests are good at this. Other tests don’t share this information and that makes it impossible to know whether it can reliably identify disorders or not.
When tests don’t include sensitivity information, or they have poor sensitivity, they can still be used to gather important information, but shouldn’t be solely relied on when making diagnostic decisions.
What Sets Educational Inspiration Apart?
We specialize in just one important area – comprehensive evaluations of language, reading, spelling, and writing.
Our evaluations go beyond test scores. We seamlessly blend formal standardized testing with the insights gained from clinical tools. This combination offers more prescriptive information about specific skill areas that may need more targeted instruction.
Enhancing this process is the inclusion of family perspectives, and previous testing/tutoring experiences.
Our process culminates with a family meeting, carefully conducted with an unhurried approach. We understand the importance of these discussions and take the time needed to share findings and thoughtfully answer questions.
